In the beginning, when the Galaxy was created, there were three Masters born. Each one was assigned to protect and preserve certain aspects of people's destinies. Master13 was born to guard the 19th Gate, the gate that separated Life and Death, which led to the Ten Paradises. Her duty was to make sure people died when their destiny said they should. If people died before they had fulfilled their purpose or their destiny for some reason, it was her job to send them back to where they came from as an angel. But Master13 wasn't to live forever. Before long, she was awakened into a new body, Master17. Master17 took over as the Guardian of the 19th Gate. Master17 went on guarding the gate, until one day she had a vision. Her vision told her that her next reincarnation, Master19, was to see wars and turmoil under her guardianship, and Destiny would be betrayed and strayed from. Master17 panicked and decided that she must put the soul of a warrior into someone with a heart of gold, so that she may be awakened when the time came to fight in the name of Destiny. She searched for the perfect person for the job, and finally came to Xarae. Xarae had yet to be born, but Master17 choose her anyway. Master17 was coming very close to death. She knew that soon Master19 would be awakened. She realized she must materialize the Phoenix. The Phoenix is the fire of Destiny, the soul and heartbeat of all life. Master17 was able to capture the Phoenix with her tears for the future. While she died, Master17's tears formed the Nakaeika, and the Phoenix was captured within it. Master17 died, and Master19, who had been alive as a mortal for 22 years already, was taken from her life on Naboo to become Master19 (her original name was Vidna). Vidna became Master19, but she had no idea about Xarae and Destiny's Phoenix. Because for some unexplained reason, when she became Master19, all the memories of her previous lives as Master13 and Master17 were never revived. Xarae was born, and although no one knew it, the Nakaeika was imbedded within her forehead. When Xarae died in her first life, Master19 saw that Xarae couldn't die, because her destiny was to protect Maul. She had to be there as his Guardian Angel. So Master19 sent her back down to Coruscant as an angel. When Maul finally died in a duel with Obi-Wan, Master19 let Xarae come up and be re-evaluated for death. Maul was allowed to die, but Master19 saw that Xarae's destiny was to become Sailor Iridonia. So instead of letting Xarae die and be together with her love, she sent her down to Iridonia to fulfill her destiny - to destroy or somehow stop the evil that is Sidious. After Xarae became as strong as she could be in her senshi form, she realized it was time to battle Sidious. During the battle, Xarae grasped the courage, bravery, grace and love that is the Phoenix, and the Nakaeika transformed her into Destiny's Phoenix. Destiny's Phoenix's job is to protect Destiny, and to make sure everyone's Destiny is fulfilled. She possesses incredible powers to help her make sure Destiny is fulfilled. But Xarae could not transform into Destiny's Phoenix at will, the Nakaeika transforms her when the Phoenix is needed. At the moment Xarae became Destiny's Phoenix, Master19's memories of all her past lives were revived. She let Xarae finally die and be reunited with Maul, after Destiny's Phoenix killed the Sith Queen, Kendra. Although Xarae and Maul lived in Death for a few years, Xarae still transforms into Destiny's Phoenix and fights for Destiny when it is needed.
